KS5W have loved being able to have a dance to start our Friday off. This helps the students to get ready for the day ahead and set a positive tone for the next lesson.
KS5W Shop
KS5W have been working all week within their classrooms to earn money to be able to spend in our classroom shop which we open every Friday morning. This helps students to develop skills with money management, communication and also developing skills in work experience with completing their jobs.…
KS5 Sensory Club
Students have enjoyed talking part in sensory club at lunch time. They read stories and coloured in pictures, whilst some students chose to relax in our comfy area.
KS5L Tuck Shop intervention
This week students from KS5L have been taking part in counting tuck shop stock, the money and then serving this to fellow students at break time. This encourages money management, counting skills and communication skills. All students have really enjoyed taking part in this activity.
KS5 S Making hearts
Students from KS5S have had fun making hearts for a thank you card to give to give to a church within in the local community. The students had fun designing their own hearts to add to the card using various materials and resources.
KS5C Lunch In Unit
On Tuesday 6th February KS5C made meatball spaghetti and pancakes ahead of Pancake Day as it falls during school half term. All the students got involved in chopping veg, weighing and measuring ingredients and all took turns to flip their own pancake. The students enjoyed this meal and all said…
KS5S Music
KS5W have been exploring music from around the world, from Australia to India and many more and this lesson became a music and dance lesson which all of the students enjoyed and laughed all the way through it. Not only did the children enjoy it but even the staff got involved.
KS5W Lunch in Unit
KS5W were learning basic food skills for their lunch in unit, making noodles and southern fried chicken. Within the lesson the students were able to read and follow the instructions on the packets to create a tasty meal which they all enjoyed.
KS5S Baking
KS5 have been enjoying a story about Twinkle the unicorn, in the story it was Twinkle’s birthday. KS5S made their own fairy cakes to enjoy for her birthday. All the students took turns in learning cooking skills such as measuring, cracking and mixing.
KS5L Lunch in Unit
KS5L chose to celebrate Chinese new year by making sweet and sour chicken noodles and jam turnovers. All the students took part in making something towards the final dish. Some students chopped vegetables, others chopped chicken, whilst another team made jam turnovers.
