VE Day 2025

As part of VE Day, we created a Spitfire plane. We had to choose our colours, cut the plane, and fold it. It was really interesting to learn all about this historic event. We worked super quietly and calmly and had a wonderful afternoon.

While the weather has been hot, we have been enjoying some water play outside. We have used fishing rods and raced boats. It was so much fun, hopefully the sun is here to stay and we can enjoy the water again next week!

This afternoon KS5L enjoyed a craft sensory lesson. We finger painted and used different textures to make patterns. We got a creative, messy and had lots of fun!

In Lunch In Unit we baked a cake. We followed instructions, measured ingredients and decorated it with icing sugar. It went down a treat! 

KS5S, Enjoying the morning swim at Nye Bevan swimming pool. We did lots of swimming and ball games in the pool.

KS5A enjoyed attending college for National Careers Week. They explored different colleges and employment opportunities. 

KS5L have been to gym/swim, they have been participating in different ways to move in the pool and to work on different areas of the body in the gym. 

Some students even when in the gym for the very first time today. Well done!

Today KS5L have been enjoying  celebrating pancake day. They enjoyed making pancakes and adding different toppings of choice.

KS5A enjoying college today learning what type of courses college can offer them. They experienced basket ball in the morning which the group really enjoyed.  Then in the afternoon they experienced IT and learning how to make games and how to code them.

Today KS5A visited WLBC offices to have a look around to see what services they could offer. We was very lucky that John the Mayors assistant was able to visit the chamber and he delivered a talk all about the types of meetings that go on and the history of the building.

KS5 Work experience group enjoyed researching the canal, learning the length, width of the canal and speaking to members of the public.
