As part of our Careers curriculum. KS3S had a fantastic visit to Skelmersdale fire station. We got to explore a real fire engine and had a go on the hose pipe. Student's also enjoyed dressing up and watching the lights and sirens go off on the engine.

This week during our STEM lesson KS4H have enjoyed preparing for our Spooky Halloween class party.

We created poster ideas, made spooky iced biscuits, Oreo mud and worm pie,  iced blood fingers and Halloween bracelets.

We really enjoyed the lesson and we can’t wait to host our Halloween…

During the STEM WOW day KS4H enjoyed the Egg Drop activity, students made their own parachutes using resources that they were provided with.

The aim of the experiment was to protect their egg.

Did they survive the great drop  ??? They all did 😁

We had a lovely visit to the café today using our total communication approach to order drinks and snacks. Or students were so well-behaved and polite and managed their money safely, kept hold of their wallets and put their receipt away with the change. It was an honour to spend this learning time…

Students in KS3W enjoyed their visit to The Hub. The students used their maths and communication skills to buy a drink and a snack and enjoyed socialising with their friends. 

Students loved singing for their families today.

Each Friday, they attend a weekly singing intervention class, which focuses on developing performance skills, confidence, communication and self esteem. 

They all did an amazing job today. Thank you to everyone who attended.

We loved careers week. We went for a job hunt in our local area. Made sandwiches for taste testing while developing our spreading of butter skills and sequencing knowledge. But we think the highlight was the homemade chip making. It was great fun learning to peel and chop potatoes but even better…

KS5H have been supporting students in the school for the last 5 weeks as part of their ASDAN unit - Complete a period of community work.
